The core objectives of this project include:

• Rehabilitation of the road surface to improve driving conditions.
• Repairs to worn-out pavement, sub-grade, and drainage systems.
• Upgrading critical sections of the road to meet modern safety and engineering
  standards.

Key activities include:

• Heavy resurfacing and patching of damaged road sections.
• Installation of improved drainage systems to prevent water accumulation.
• Reconstruction of bridges and culverts.
• Enhanced road markings, signage, and safety barriers.

Upon completion, the Adama-Awash Heavy Maintenance Project will significantly
improve regional transportation, reduce vehicle wear and tear, and support economic activity by ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient movement of goods and people.
